Default Anything to get this raspy sound

Theres this clip I heard from the ls1tech sound website, and I love it. The problem is, I dont want to copy every part he uses. So I was wondering where the main source of this raspy sound comes from. http://www.ls1sounds.com/true_duals/...95Z_reving.wmv is where the sound link is every mod he did is in the link. Let me know if you know the source of the sound. Thanks,
-Nick

from just looking at the link, I can tell that you won't be able to get that kind of sound without an engine swap. LT1's and LS1's sound different, block material, firing order etc.. are all different

I'm running Kooks LTs, ORY, through GMMG with a Borla XR-1 in the intermediate pipe and I have just a hint of rasp around 2000-2200 or so...I think you may be the first person actually wanting rasp vs. getting rid of it!

i heard of a couple people who want the rasp. understandable, it sounds hard as hell, but i think it would get old after a while

If you WANT rasp, basically choose your favorite long tube headers, use an off road Y-pipe, and your catback of choice. This will get you some rasp. Just about every Y-pipe/catback setup without cats has some rasp, so you won't have any problems finding the rasp you're looking for.

If you WANT rasp avoid the SLP dual/dual, hooker and magnaflow. They cover it up the best. (which is what most want to do)

If you really want raspy, go with a 1 chamber Flowmaster or a Melatone.
Also dump your cats. I made the mistake of dropping my cats with a single chamber Melatone with my TPI, people thought a truck was coming, big mistake!

Some people have a different defination of rasp. My friend always says stuff about that sounds real raspy and good. He defines rasp as that throaty mustang sound. So maybe this is the same case.

I didn't fully understand the concept of rasp until I went to an ORY set-up...it sounds really obnoxious (IMO) and I do my best to moderate the throttle and gear selection to avoid that particular RPM range...the Borla XR-1 in the I-pipe helped, but there's still some there...
