Question !egr without programming?

If I blocked off the egr and plugged the intake, but left the valve plugged up till I can get tuned would it throw a code?

Yes, it would throw a code. The valve wouldn't detect any pressure from the exhaust and tell the PCM that it was defective. Hell, I deleted my AIR and EGR without programming. I got the dreaded SES light, but who cares....my engine bay looks much cleaner now.

It will throw a code, but nothing more. You will have a light on and a cleaner engine bay. It can be deleted with a tune, or if you know someone with ls1edit/hptuners they can delete it as well.

think there is a resistor or resistors that can be put in to not have code? Doesn't code retard timing?

EGR also controls timing.
I would be concerned having a constant SES light while throwing extra timing at the engine. Tune it.

wondering if anyone has thought of making an egr spoof out of resistors and what resistance you should have. Might even be a market for one for people who don't feel comfortable with tuning.

egr has absolutely nothing to do with timing

Oh yes it does. There is a table that adds anywhere from 1-7 degrees of timing between 800 and 2800 rpm and .06 and .37 g/cyl air flow when the EGR is activated.

I would be worried If I didn't have the SES light on now.
