Its been awhile since i've looked at subs, but dont the W7"s come in only a 13.5" sub, not an 8"? At any rate.. My recomendation to you would be JL Audio. I have had 3 10" Wo's forever. I only wanted a "cheaper" system, that still sounded good. I have not spent much, and the stuff is loud. I have an Orion Cobalt 400 rms amp, pumping the 3-10"ers and, to me, is all the base you need. These speakers dont need a huge volume box to make impressive bumps. Just my suggestion. Step up to W3's if you must. They of course will take more volume to sound the best, and in every vehicle, space comes at a premium.

treo ssi 8 goes into a tiny sealed box and gets nasty, crystal comp 8 is another one, but likes 1 cube sealed, and ported or transmission line boxes better. gets more low end out of it. the treo depth is 4 3/8", crystal is 5"+ (?). both those subs love power and can take it.

The crystal cmp 8's are unbeatable for $100 a piece. They also rms at 400 watts. I'm probably going to be running two of these in a ported box getting 800wrms in a couple months.

Those solobaric 8" aren't great to use since I put them ontop of a 10" kicker round one and it was the same size

How do you want them better? Louder, lower, or more sound quality. Personaly I really like the way the w7s sound. Much better then JL or MTX in my opinion.

Sorry I did not specify. I like better lower end and sound quality. I have Had about every size of sub out there and in a lot of brands so I have tried JL w3v2s to the w7 and have also had a solo baric L5 all of those are in 10s and 12s but I now want to have a small system that is not ear bleeding bass, but I just want something that I can hear in my cab but not really loud out side.

the 9500 is a great sub, i haven't ever used or seen the 8 in action. the W7 is a good sub also. the crystal comp 8 needs a ported or TL to strong bottom end out of it. in a sealed, 50 hz up it is obnoxious. linear x max is around 1" one way on that sub. the treo ssi 8" will drop bombs out of a small sealed box, you just have to have enough amp to get the most out of it, 500w rms.
