Default Tranny tuning?

I finally got my setup straight with my new LS1Speed Tranny and my TCI 3000 stall. It runs good and from a stop or slow roll it puts me back in my seat like I thought it would, but...

It shifts funny- I have rode in other stalled cars and they just seem to flow into every gear, real fast firm shifts, the cars fell like they all just have one long *** gear.

It seems mushy on the highway- Not bad mushy, but just like it does around town. I thought when it locks up its not supposed to feel mushy..

Maybe I'm not understanding the science of a stall, I dunno. Is there fixes for these problems?

I couldn't even feel my shifts after my converter. I put in a shift kit with two washers and the shifts are now nice and firm but not harsh.
