Default Help dropping driver's side header pleez!!!!

i have pacesetters. both went in with no problem. i had to bang a tiny bit on the driver's side, but nothing significant. now, im dropping the headers and the driver's side is stuck on the motor mount, back wall of the engine bay, and only a quarter inch from the steering linkage. i can wiggle it from side to side a lil bit, but it wont go down at all!!! anyone have any helpful advice?? id like to try first without having to undo the steering linkage, but i guess if i have to, i have to. then again, i didnt have to putting them in, so there must be a way to get them out w/o removing anything. help please!!!!

thats a good idea man. i wish i had a lift, but i dont. ill try jacking the front up more. by the way, im trying to do this with my exhaust still on. that may be another reason it doesnt wanna fall right. i have everything unbolted from the x pipe back so the dumped true dual outlets are just resting on the ground. i dont have a sawzaw to cut them yet.

yea, it needs to be completely free to get it down from there...i think if u just get the header free of the rest of the exhaust u will be fine

lift the engine a bit. LS1's have rubber motor mounts so it is doable. i put a board across my oil pan and slowly jack the engine up about 1/2 inch form the frame. the header slid right in. It took about 45 seconds and I never touched my steering linkage

I'm planning on installing the headers in my car.

How's the tear down coming along Jamie? Was the x-pipe welded to the headers?

This post sucks. Why would you think you can remove the headers without removing the exhaust? Are you being lazy or just don't know any better? Did you change your board name? You sound vaguely familiar.
