Default Think I can take a OLD GTO?

There's a kid in my school that thinks he's tough **** he has a 1967 gto with a 455 HO or he says its HO i'm not sure about that, but he thinks he's hella fast and can take my 00 Camaro SS what do you guys think? I think the 1970s got the 455's any1 know how much power those things make//made and my chances of winning?

Kinda hard to tell not knowing how much money he has into it. I say go for it and good luck to ya.

This reminds me of a kid at my high school that had a 70 Nova that he brought to school claiming to be faster than my lid/catback (at the time) WS6. I'll admit I was intimidated as hell as the thing was cammin its *** off...but I ended up beating it by at least 3 cars.

If he is stock you will beat him.The 455 GTO"S went about 13.3 to 13.6. You should get him.

Darth vader **** all my car has is a Borla catback but yeah you'd think those cars are heavy but it only weighs 3.4k pounds but last time I tried to race him he said alright 500$ so I was like err dude...I dont have 500$ so I talk to my bud and tell him what he just said and my bud goes up there and says alright we got the 500 lets go, he then goes on to say, DUDE my tires are bald I can't race you. Talk about trying to be intimidating and wimpin out but yeah that 455 is intimidating but he's afraid to race an rx7 or a GST LOL i'd love to know how fast he is his car is a 1967 but I think it has the 70 engine in it anyone know the specs, as far as I know the car is stock but it DOES burn the tires at about 10-20 mphs something in that area, maybe the tires are bald

You will most likely take him fairly easy, but then again you might lose.
Was that vague enough?

Ok I have owned 7, 70 chevelle true ss cars.(all either 396 or 454) And I now own a 2002 ws6. Unless he has a blower or a bottle. He doesnt have a prayer. The muscle cars attract a lot of attention and cam their *** off but as far as actually puttin the power down and runnin the numbers at the track,in stock trim, they dont compare to the ls1 f-bodies. Stock the '70 455 puts out 366hp at the crank, bout 300hp at the wheels. They really do weigh bout 3500,i know its hard to believe but its true. So if hes runnin n/a and drivin it everyday(which i did in high school,ls6 chevelle) He just plain and simple doesnt have enough for you. I would say hes truly running bout a 13.9@105 at best. Hope i was of help.

BTW , HO means high output. Or you could just say BS for bull **** cause all big blocks from the muscle car era are high output. If they werent they dont belong in the cars! Ill let you know how irrelative HO is, the big blocks they put in duelies from that era had HO on the back of the block. Its BS i tell ya. They put those engines in work trucks! Tell'em that next time you see him! lol
