Default new slave

I got my new slave today and was wondering a couple things.

First what is the large bearing like thing that came with it? I haven't seen anything on here about it.

second I am going to use my stock master and was wondering do I still have to bleed it? It looks like a quick disconnect of some kind for the slave to master line.

The bearing on the spring is your throw out bearing. It rides on the pressure plate and when you push the clutch thats what disengages the clutch. The slave is pre bled as long as you dont remove the master it's plug and play. Good luck

You guys didn't look at the picture very closely. That bearing snaps onto the top of the piston on the slave cylinder. The one's i've bought were already together, i don't know why yours came like that. But yeah, it's the throwout bearing.

Ok I just checked the one that came with the spec clutch and its the same thing just the bearing is on it, instead of the way it came with the slave.

Thanks

Now does anyone know about the question on bleeding the master?

The slave should be ready to go and should not require bleeding but many others have indicated that when replacing the slave they had to do a bleed. Put it together and check you pedal and cross your fingers that it's ok. I did a bleed on mine to replace the fluid and I used the gravity method w/o any problems.
