Fustration....!! Trans won't shift from 3-4 and it Neutrals out at 120 in 4 once I
Lift to get it to shift from 3-4.
Sent my PCM back in to get retuned and came back the same way and they said they didn't see anything wrong with it.
So I don't know if it is the trans or the tune?
I logged a run with it today and if I don't lift a bit before the rev limiter on 3-4 WOT it won't shift in to 4th. It will shift out of 1st and 2nd hard and fine. Once I do get it into fourth it hits 120 or just a bit less and then it Neutrals out. The RPM it does it at is about 5500. Can't run tens like that! Down the road under non WOT it shifts just perfect. Looks like the car shifts right around 6300 with an rev limiter of 6800.
Another thing that boggles me is that If I leave it in "D" 2-3 wont shift out unless I pop it up in to "OD"? Under WOT conditions that is.
One thing that leads me to belive it is the tune is my freind with an O1 TA A4's car does the same thing from 3-4 not sure on the Neutraling out since he has his trans in for repair on an unrelated problem (bent output shaft when the tail shaft broke). He has his PCM tuned by the same tuner.
Before I had my Tune, Heads and Cam done I had it on the dyno and had a 161 top speed on the dyno before the limiter kicked in when I only pulled 318hp.
I think the only thing I can do right now is to buy another 98 pcm an see if it shifts or not. Funny thing also because I have a time slip from this Memorial weekend where I had a trap speed of 118 so either I was close to it going Neutral on me or it is getting worse...
Could it be the verter. I have a TCI 3500 stall.
