Alpine 6.5 door & seal panal speakers so miny?
I am starting to change my stock system to Alpine I've got a Alpine CDA-9855 deck and a MRV-545-V12 500w Apline amp and Alpine XM radio contoler but witch speaker shound i get for the best sound in the doors and the seal panal.Should there be differant types for the door and the seal panal, there is so miny 6.5 Alpine speaker like:
SPR17LP-Type R 250W-50RMS-Watts
SPR17LS-Type R 350W-70RMS-Watts
SPX177R- 300W-75RMS-Watts
SPS170A- 200W-40RMS-Watts
SPS171A- 250W-50RMS-Watts
SPR-174- Type R 160W-40RMS-Watts
SPR-176- 200W-50RMS-Watts
Witch one is the better sound and will fit the depth of the door and seal panal , I am also going to get a Alpine Amp & Sub and CD changer price don't matter but not insain but I want only Alpine products

Are u going to run a seperate amp for the speakers and the subs? or just the sub alone? If you are going to run the speakers w/out a aftermarket amp i was told the SPS 170A was the best fit for the system. Anything else probably requires too many watts to run and u would need a aftermarket amp. I currently am running the SPS 170A speakers and I still dont think i have enough watts going to them. Good Luck on your system.

The spr-17ls and the spx-177r are a direct drop into into the stock baffles. And since those fit, the other will likely fit as well (the sps-17xA fit too I believe). What you do have to be aware of is the tweeter protrusion on the coaxial models. I believe you can have up to 3/4" above the mounting flange to be safe..
From listening to the 17ls and 177r side by side, the 177r seems to be a little more clearer with the same signal.
Keep in mind, the 17ls is a hefty speaker. Weighing in at around 5 LB per woofer. The 177R weighs about the same as the factory speaker (maybe a little more, but much).
This was a factor for me in choosing the 177R's.
If you're going to stay with the alpine series, you might consider the spx-17MB for the SAIL panel speakers.
I got the same amp as you have. Front doors are spx-177R, and a stealth sub in the rear. I'm running the hatch 4" speakers off HU power.
My install is almost complete - hopefully tomorrow I'll connect power and finally energize the system
I'll give my 2 cents worth on this setup in the next few days after I had a chance to play around with it...

Alpine makes a mid-bass 6.5 for that will fit the rear sail panels (beside the seats) JL also make one. Both will fit but with and speaker in the sail panels I would use poly fill just to keep and rattels down. Some people think you can use the same speakers yoiu have in your front doors in the sail panels. I have mid bass drivers in my sail panels and I'm going to switch to co-axials for better imaging. I'm runnning a stealth box and Infinities 6.5 in the front doors and the factory midbass drivers right now and I hardly ever hear the mid bass.

So should i go with a co-axials or components in the seal panel for a crisper sound .witch Alpine speakers shound i go with in there or shound i switch the door SPX-177-R to the seal panel and use a differant speaker in the doors , I have not in stalled any thing yet so i can make changes vert easy at this point. To day this is what i have ready to go in
All Alpine: CDA-9855 head unit,MRV-545-V12 amp,Alpine XM radio controller,SPX-177-R 6.5" component speakers,SWR-2210D 10" sub woofer for stelth box,PAC-SWI-ALP steiring wheel controler.
What i need :A good Alpine Amp to run the sub, another set of 6.5" speakers for the doors or seal panels , Stelth box , and maybe speaker for the rear not shore about that yet.

Randy, you might want to consider actually listening to these speakers before deciding for sure. I had a chance to listen to both the type R and X components side by side. With the same settings, the X sounded more clearer to me.
There's really no need for the SAIL PANEL speakers. The factory ones in there were subs, and since you're going to have a STEALTH box, why spend more money. For my rears, I have some 4" kappa's in there running off of head unit power, but really, it's there just for fill... if even that.. I barely hear them.
As for your sub, alpine doesn't make a 22" 10 ohm sub. I think you mean't the SWR-1022D (10", 2ohm+2ohm DVC).
Going with components will let you lift the sound stage up a bit if you mount the tweeters in the mirror triangles..

My bad ,the sub is a SWR-1022D-10" So you are saying just put speaker in the door and the one sub and leave the factory seal panel speaker in , The amp that i have is a 4 chanal hook up .I was going to hook up 2 chanals for the 2 doors and 2 chanals for the 2 seal panal and a extra amp for the sub alone. The fatory seal panal will not hold up to the amp that i have, a total of 500 watts combind and around 100 watts perchanal.I'm looking for a seround sound efect.
