Default whats this??

ok, so i was driving the other day and something was stoping my gas pedal from going all the way down. when i pushed hard the pedal would go all the way down, but it wouldn't rev all the way, it would only go to about 2500 rpm. so i just kept pushing it down and then it finally went back to normal. it has happend a couple of times since then and want to know if this happend to anyone else.
let me know.

I dunno... traction control usually pushes the gas pedal back towards you if you break traction.

check the floor mat. I had a car that had that same problem. It ended up being the floor mat jammed up under the gas pedal.

Happened to me, too. I thought my gas pedal was broken.

its not the floor mat because i can push the pedal all the way to the floor, but when i do the engine doesn't rev up. think it could be something with my throttle body, or the linkage?

Yup - check for slack in the throttle cable. Also, take the cover off of the criuse control module (front passenger side of the engine compartment) and make sure that there is no slack in any of the cables or gears. Then, look at the throttle body and throttle linkage on it. If this all looks OK, then I dunno!

this is whats going on. i had a friend push the pedal as i looked at the cables and cruise control. when the pedal is pushed until theres pressure on it, the throttle moves about 1/3 full throttle, and then when its pushed to the floor the cable that comes into the cruise control moves, but the other one from it doesn't move and the throttle doesn't move.
so this means its something with the cruise control. does it need to be replaced, or lubricated? please let me know.

i just had this same problem. There is a valve where the 3 cables come into the modual for the Traction control and cruise control. I got that entire piece which is very costly. cost price is 1,200.00, but i got mine for 750.00. If the pedal still doesn't go fully to the ground you would have to get it if it does it here and then it's on the verdge of going.
