You need to be a little more specific...Like what are your plans/mods. N/A power? FI power? 400 rwhp is a good rule of thumb for fuel injector upgrade, but all depends on where your power level falls.

sorry

I have a 3500 stall Automatic 98 camaro
I believe it has stock 28lb injectors.
engine mods are:
347 shortblock
stage 2.5 5.3 heads
MS3 cam
Z06 MAF
Lid
LS6 intake
Pacesetter Long Tubes
Duel race mufflers
!Cats
!EGR
!AIR
!Thermostat

I have not recieved my engine, heads, or cam yet I'm just wondering should I upgrade the Fuel pump and/or Injectors at this point.

Old setup:
stock 346 shortblock
stock heads
TSP 231 237 cam
Z06 MAF
Lid
LS6 intake
Pacesetter Long Tubes
Duel race mufflers
!Cats
!EGR
!AIR
!Thermostat

The real way to tell is to log the car once it's running to see where the milliseconds are on the injectors at WOT ( autotap , hptuners etc. ). In the PCM/tuning section is a guide and some excel spreadsheets that will help.

For the pump , get a mechanical gauge and hook it up to your hood so you can see it while driving. At idle it should be 58-60 and at WOT you probably don't want it to go below 54-55. If it does, time to upgrade.

FWIW on your setup I believe you may max out the injectors; what year is your car?

See my sig below; I just picked up 42lb injectors and after getting them in I plan on doing the gauge as described above.

Can anyone confirm this? I was under the impression that 98-99 had 28lbs stock and the 00-02 had 26lbs.... Does anyone have some hard data, because now I'm confused.

I know that is incorrect just from camparing flowrate vs kpa on a 99 to an 01. The 01' is definately a smaller injector. I'm just not too sure what size each has. Surely this has been posted before...I just can't seem to find it.

'98, '01 and '02's have the bigger 28.8 injectors and '99 and '00 have the smaller 26.4 injectors.
