Yes, All A4's have a stock cooler, if you look directly below the radiator cap you will see a line going into the end tank of the radiator, and one towards the bottom, thats the cooler. How effective is it, well, I'd add a cooler front mounted even with a stock TC.

I would get one....heat is a killer on these tranny's. Would you rather pay $50 for a tranny cooler or $900+ for a tranny rebuild (plus a few hours downtime to install a cooler vs a few days for a tranny rebuild)?
