Default Finally Somebody stepped up, 99' Z28 vs. C5

Yesterday, on the 4th of july no less, I'm on the highway and looked in my mirror and saw what appeared to be a yellow vette. Slowed down to 70 and waited. When he caught up it was a C5 probably only a year or two old tops. So I jumped on the gas a lil, he didn't do anything. I slowed and reset my cruise thinking he wasn't up for it. Then I look over and here is this guy with his wife in the vette looking at me smiling and he punched it. So I nailed it and started playing catch up. Not only did I start gaining, I had a good run on him. I passed him doing 140 mph! Not the fastest I've ever been but the fastest in that car and faster than I've went in a long time. Only the 2nd race I've been able to get in my Z, and the first one was a WS6 Ram Air TA that I took out last summer. So I had to do it just to see how my Z stacked up. Scary thing is, the speedo was still climbing! I let off at 145 as reality hit me, seeing as my Fiancee and her mom were following me, well, supposed to be, lol.

I say you guys keep your F-bods and get a cobra...That's what I did, but sold the cobra and getting a new one in a few months...Best of both worlds...Both are very fast and both look beautiful

Thanks. I'm in the Grand Rapids area. I was on my way to GR when it happened. It felt good to finally get some justification that my mods were effective, even though I could tell after each mod there was an improvement.

Well as much as I am GM loyal, unfortunately the General is forcing us into that position of buying a mustang, magnum, 300c, or the new charger. Luckily, I have no need for a new car for awhile, maybe by then there will be a new pony car out from the General that is rwd v-8.
