Heh...you sound like me this weekend trying to figure out how to mount my dial indicator. I have this info at home and will post it this evening if no one else helps you out. I bought a Prothane fixture to use because I got tired of dealing with a magnetic base on an aluminum engine only to find out the fixture didn't come with metric adapters.

I believe they are 8mmx1.5px55mm. If not then its 1.25. Sorry, had to replace a lot of bolts, but that should be one of those.

I believe it is a 6mmx1mm threaded hole. I will have to verify when I get home. As for mounting the indicators, I found a piece of steel plate. I then put the valley cover over the plate and marked the holes. I then removed the plate and drilled the holes.

Now when I want to check something, I place the place where the valley cover goes and use teh valley cover bolts to hold it down.

Just for clarification. The rocker bolts are 8mmx1.25. Other bolt holes of interest for mounting dial indicators are the valve cover bolts 6mmx1.00 and head bolts 12mmx1.75. I used them all trying to mount my DI this weekend. Ended up using a piece of angle iron bolted to the head. Damned foreigners and their ****-eyed measuring system.

The head bolts are M11x2. I was looking for a tap that size to clean out the holes before I found out a stock bolt could be modified.

You're right, my bad. I should have known better. I spent the past weekend installing new heads and using my $50 APR thread chaser. I thought it was going to come gold plated, but it wasn't.

Yeah, the suggested Kent-Moore tool is around $85-$125 depending on where you get it. It was much cheaper to grind a long used head bolt (like a tap) and use it as a chaser.
