cant shift when racing, shifter keeps getting loose, whats wrong?

cant shift when racing, shifter keeps getting loose, whats wrong? I CAN shift perfectly fine upon normal driving (2000-5500 rpms).
When Im getting on it, it wont let me shift into any gear at ease at 6500rpms. When shifting, it will either take a while to get into gear (granny shifting sucks when racing), or it will grind on me when i slightly enforce it.
A friend of mine suggessted I should look at the tranny mount as it could be broken.
The transmission does seem to vibrate a little more than it ever did, and the shifter does seem to come apart every now and then.
Any suggesstions?

I would start with the drill mod, then make sure your hydraulics are well bled. High shift effort can be an indication of the clutch not disegaging fully.
Where is your shifter coming apart? Is this a stock or aftermarket shifter. Some locktite on the bolts that hold the shifter handle to the base usually takes care if the problem.
