Default 05 GTO, 0-60 & 1/4 with a G-TECH

well i finally had a chance to see what the goat would do with the g-tech.
the first 3 runs were on the freeway after driving an hour to work, oh by the way the freeway is pretty empty, 4 in the morning and i start from the emergency lane, so i'm hurting my time alittle.
1st run: 0-60 5.65, 1/4mi. 13.99@107.5
2nd run: 0-60 5.51, 1/4mi. 13.60@108.0
3rd run: 0-60 5.47, 1/4mi. 13.49@108.5
the last run i let the car cool down for about an hour after i got home.
0-60 5.56, 1/4mi. 13.45@109.8----------- i like that trap speed,
i'm not launching the car good, i'm getting too much wheel spin through first, i need more practice. 05 gto stock filter removed, k&n cone filter in place.

Yeah, the trap speed is off by about 2-3 mph. The only thing I use mine for is the 0-60 because that's more accurate. You should take it to the track.

Then you'll need to take it to the track. Let the Honda boys play with GTech's.

Your GTO is strong, don't worry about it.

I took my GTO to the track with the GTECH....I found that the Track ET was actually .10 better than the GTECH, but the mph at the track was 3 mph lower than the GTECH. I ran a 12.5 @115 per the track, and it was a 12.6 @ 118 per the GTECH. These results seem pretty typical....within .1 as far as ET, and 2-3 mph "too high" with the GTECH. Could be that the tracks use an average across distance at the end of the track for mph.

I bet you will run 13.3 at 106 with your 05 GTO...that is what I have been seeing at my track with 05's that are still stock. Amazing that a big heavy car that drives like a cadillac can click off low 13's stock on shitty tires.

I was just about to reply that i hooked up a buddies g-tec for ***** n giggles and it said i trapped 129 mph..close but not quite. Those things are fun but not quite accurate enough MPH wise.

I tried posting g-tech times once too and got flamed by everybody. I dont have a 1/4 track less than two hours away. As far a the g-tech they had an article from hot rod magazine last month where they used it at a track and it posted almost identicle times. The mph is usually about 3-5 higher but times were accurate. That is pretty good stock numbers. A few mods and you will smoke the s-2000.

Its not worth beating on your car and stopping in the midddle of the freeway for more G-tech times. Where are you in CA? There is the "Street Legals" at the 1/4 mile at California speedway this weekend.

just run it over with your car... i had mine for a week then i sold it... 0-60 might be accurate; only on leveled ground but 1/4 times were all over the place..

could just get a good GPS with a 1/4 mile, 0 - 60, & MPH tracking program on it, if there's not a track anywhere nearby.

well i used the g-tech this morning and i got 2 runs in, the 1st run i got 5.20 0-60 and 13.33@ 108.8 then 2nd run was 5.35 0-60 and 13.49@107.9.....i fell pretty good about those times because i didn't have any wheelspin on the launch, 1-2 slight chirp.....now its time to take it to the track
