anodizing would be cool, but you would have to block off quite a few holes to do it right, imo..

Polished and iron block???? What????? You can polish your aluminum manifold and heads, but not an iron block. You can smooth an iron block, but not polish it. You can paint your aluminum block and heads, but you will have alot of trouble anodizing your aluminum block. First off, there are only a couple shops that can anodize cast aluminum and you will spend thousands of dollars to do it. That is what I was told when I wanted to get my intake done. Even if you did want to anodize it, you would have to smooth the hell out of it and basically polish the entire thing for the anodizing to look like you want it to. Just paint it.

I would think that painting the aluminum block would create a small thermal barrier and cut heat transfer efficiency, kind of like insulation. Should be pretty easy to polish if its on a stand not that you can see much of it anyway from the engine bay.

& once again Skunk apparently don't know about ZoopSeal to seal somethin that's been polished to keep it polished, and no maintenance needed. If you do use Zoop Seal make sure you get it as polished as you want it, cuz it wont be able to be polished once it's sealed...or you can shoot automotive clearcoat over it with an adhesion promoter....

That's pretty impressive... I don't think I've ever seen polished cast iron! Can you use Zoop Seal on aluminum as well? won't burn off?

XXX Wow, I honestly have never seen anyone do that before. I thought that iron was more of a yellowish/brownish metal as apposed to aluminum which is silverish. I have never seen that done before. I can see that took you a long time so I can understand why you are defensive. I guess it was more of an opinion on my part, not fact. You proved me wrong. I know Zoop Seal, but I also thought that was just for aluminum, proven wrong again.
Just curious, how long did that take you? Do you have any pics of that block in your car.
The reason why I say don't waste your time is: I have seen lots of polished alumium blocks in street rods where you can see the sides of the block clearly, but in an f-body, you can barely see the side of the block. I have seen polished heads in F-bodies, and they look really good.

The motor is not complete, therefore not in the car...That is the only pic, I will show until I have pics of the 100% assembled motor. It took me about 2.5-3 months workin a lil every day to grind off the casting, smooth edges, and then start sanding all over a winter. I'm debating on keeping it polished or shooting a Kandy paint over it to tint it with some color....
