Black Duck-Tape MOD....HAhahaha
Well i have thinking a lot lately about mutulating my rims, but no worries it is in a good way. I want to get the rears widened to 11inches, but im having a hard time finding a shop that will move the centers so i can have an optimal 45ish mm offset for the 315's .
But for now i have been debating wheather or not to powercoat my rims black, and i waasnt having the desired look when i did it in photoshop cs, so i decided to get some black duck tape and went to work on only 2 wheels! HAha looks kinda funny, but i wanted to see what you guys think. Im still not sure at this point yet. One side is "normal" and the other has the tape on it, ill think you'll figure it out....
Let me know what you think.
The rims are HP racing, 18X9 HyperlightDark with a 38mm offset.

Never in a millions years would I have thought of something like that.
Question, how do you propose to get the duct tape off without leaving a funky residue on the wheels? I might take some painters tape and go over one side of mine first, then wrap that with duct tape. I could see how it looks, then pull the wheels off and cut down the middle of the back to remove the tape. Would give me a better idea than a photoshop would, and from 20 ft away I bet you cant even tell its duct tape on there. Not a bad idea to get a visual.
For your car though, silver.

Looks like its 5 black.... 5 silver votes so far...
you guys are making this hard on me....
Also the tape is not cheap, its 3m, so none of the junk stays on the wheel, i tested it before i tried doing an entire wheel.
It only took like 15 min per wheel.... thats not long at all!!

silver...
Always wondered though.. why in the hell does it look like you dont have a rear spring on the passenger side? It sits way lower than any other corner including the front. So my vote is.. spend the money you planned on using to go black on the repair of the passenger rear suspension. Then do some silver highlights!
