Default Torquer 2 = Valve Breaker?

Let me start with this... ... ...

Okay, I was dead set on the Torquer 2 (mods in sig) until a friend of mine (Mustang guy) called the cam I was getting a valve breaker...wtf?

It's not too late to change my mind as my order with TSP is still pending.

I need some input here to put my mind at ease. Anyone have problems with a cam this size (which isn't THAT big anyway). I mean with the proper supporting mods (dual springs, ti retainers, hardened pushrods) I shouldn't have a problem right?

Just when I thought I was 100% positive on the cam I selected

Debating on just getting a 224 again.

Hes a mustang guy, dont listen to him. If that cam consistantly broke valves like he claims it does, you would see a lot more post about it.

its just a standard comp XE-R lobed cam. improper spring selection will cause valve problems and potentially bend a valve.

That's what I figured. But then again, like co.6 said, it hasn't been out that long. On the other hand, there are a lot of guys with 230+ cams on xe-r lobes that don't have a problem.

PRC duals should be more than enough to handle a torquer 2 right jrp?

Is there anything I can do wrong (other than something incredibly obvious, like leaving a rocker out) during the install to maximize the possibilities of any kind of drivetrain failures?

Just get the Torqer v2. You will be perfectly fine. PLENTY of people run cams bigger than that. Myself included. (MS3: 237/242 .603/.609 113)

Alright guys, screw it. I'm gonna complete my order Monday. Just wanted to make sure I was making the right decision before it was too late. Thanks again for the words of encouragement. Hopefully by the time you hear back from me, I'll be posting in the dyno section.

With the PRC springs, you have nothing to worry about. Good luck with the install and enjoy the cam.

Thanks Jason, any advice for me to get the install to go a little smoother? I'll give Zach a call tomorrow and finalize the order. BTW, you guys have kick *** customer service.
