Default New Car Look on Plastic Parts?

Hey guys, you know when you buy a car the dealership uses a wash/cleaner whatever to get the plastic part nice and shiny/clean so they look like new. What are they using to do this? It must be a spray product dressing of some sort that is cheap and easy to use or they wouldn't be using it right?

No this is definately not for my Camaro, shame on you for thinking that!

Actually it's for my Avalanche as I want to shine up the plastic inner fenders, underhood plastic, rubber floor mats and maybe use it on the rear bed mat as it is getting that dull greyish look to it.

So what do you guys recommend I try, a silicone or water based dressing product? I need something available locally at places like AutoZone, Napa, etc.

Thanks, Greg

Quick and easy to use? I would try Black Magic Tire Wet. I used to use it as a tire dressing.

I use Black Magic on all the exterior plastics, and door sills. It works great!

Thanks, but I don't want that greasy over siliconed film like tires get that attract dirt right away.

I was searching and found this from Auto Magic #61 Dress It Right This sounds like what I want (and by watching the video) but I'm looking for something you can get at the local Auto Parts Store.

Super Dress-It® is a superior all-purpose, water-based silicone dressing for interiors, exteriors and engine compartments. Restores original beauty to vinyl upholstery and trim, dashboards, air vents, tires, rubber moldings, vinyl tops, hoses and more.

Shouldn't you be working on 'our' hood mod instead of cleaning your truck?

I have had really good results 303 Areospace, and yes I use this on the Z . I've gone through more then enough interior products on other cars but they ususally leave a shine to them (Some people like it, some don't). Wipe down your plastic/vinyl peices with a damp microfiber (if you have one) a couple times to get rid of all the dust. Then apply the 'stuff' with a foam pad. After that I take a dry microfiber towel and wipe everything down again.
