Subthump makes a stealth box... so does JL. Stealth describes the type of box, not a specific company that makes it.

It will probably also depend on if you want it amplified or not.

Subthump is made out of MDF (heavy)
JL and MTX are fiberglass (Light)

I have seen the MTX on ebay and crutchfield. The JL I have not seen around.

Yeah that's the one they're talking about. I believe the JL Stealthbox is cheaper and probably more common...

actually, the MTX is made of polyethylene resin, which is plastic-based, and is a little heavier than fiberglass.....but yeah, the JL is fiberglass

On the contrary. The subthump stealth weighs only 8-9lbs. I know for a fact that it weighs less than the plastic resin boxes offered by JL and probably the mtx box as well. I doubt if a fiberglass box would weigh much less than that if you really want to spend that much extra. The real weight savings will be found in the sub you choose to go in the box.

Subthump makes excellent products. I have had 3 different boxes from them, all top notch.
