Default is there such a thing as too much injector?

hye guys i am getting a cam and nitrous and other things in the next month or so, so i am looking to upgrade injectors for the tune. i figure 30s 0r 36s would be good, but would there be anything wrong with going to a larger one, like a 42 lb injector and then possibly growing into it later with a 2nd dtage dry shot, or a larger displacement motor?

right now i will have a wet shot, and a large cam.

Thanks
Louie

svo 42s (48#@gm pressure) are not big at all. supra's come with 550cc injectors stock (that's like 53#) and idle like a lexus. i've seen cars with 1600cc injectors idle just fine. it's more of a question of configuration than the hardware itself.
get yourself the 42s and you'll be happy and safe to about 500-550rwhp

Idle is only part of it. Generally the smaller the injector the better the spray pattern and drivability, although many of the drivability issues can be addressed with a good tune.

you obviously dont want to change injectors at all without the capability to calibrate the computer for them.

i would step up so that you won't have to do it again later.

i never had problems getting good idle and part throttle from mototron 60's on a 346ci engine

i currently run 96's in a 366ci engine fine but did have some problems with idle AFR control w/ same engine and 160# injectors

I had the same question:

*Assuming you have them scaled properly (i have HPTuners)...

Are there ANY disadvantages to larger injectors. I heard someone say drivablity but he didn't follow up as to why. Going AFR H/C and want to be able to throw a 100 shot on it in the future. I'd rather just buy injectors once.

If your injectors are to large change the duty cycle, that might work.

you don't change duty cycle, duty cycle changes for you, if you change injectors/calibration. it's a derivative of rpms and injector pulse width. PCM section has stickies for it.
