Stupid Welding Question...
I am pondering purchasing Lincoln Weld Pak 3200 HD wire Feed Welder Model: K2190-1 from a friend.
Its says it can handle 5/16"... does that mean I can't weld a regular exhaust pipe to a 1/2" think T3 Turbine inlet flange.
Or does that mean I can only join up to two 5/16" plate peices into one.
Confused a lil here... just want to make sure it can do what I need... which is remote turbo exhaust work.
Thanks in advance...

Yep you can. But check out the turbine flange carefully. It may be cast. If it is get a professional to do the welding, as it welding cast involves pre-heating and controlled cooling.

just as your welding try to keep most of the heat on the thicker metal and then drag it onto the thinner piping. That will help ensure penetration into the flange and reduce the chance of blowing through the thin tubing. Good luck
