Default Are 10 bolt 3 channel and 4 channel axles the same?

A friend of mine messed up his rear and he bent an axle and I have a spare, but its from a 4 channel/ TCS, ASR rear. Will it fit his 3 channel non traction control car?

Yes, it will work. You just have to remove the reluctor gear on the end of your axle.

So nothing else you need to do? Backing plates will swap??

I want to swap in an 4-channel (3.42) into my 3-channel (3.23)

no nothing else need's to be swapped. you can use teh axels without taking off the reluctor ring's if you like also. I currently have a four channel 10bolt in my car with the 3 series axel's. backing blates and everytihing else work
