Default Accuracy of WBO2 in open headers + 110 race gas

I wan't to use my WB to tune the race car. The car has open headers with 6" collector extensions/turndowns. So the WB sensor will be 3-4" from the end of the open header. Will it still read accurately at WOT? How long will it take to kill the sensor on 110 leaded race gas? It will be used at the track ONLY for a few passes to get the AFR dialed in.

Thanks for any help.

4" is prety close to the end. if you have a 6" extention you should be able to weld in a bung in the colector and get that sensor more like 10" from the end. 10" i would feel ok with at WOT.

i have been running the same wideband sensor for 3 years now. probably 300gallons of 50% mix 114/pump. maybe 20 gallons of strait 114 octane, 100 gallons of 30% mix of xylene/pump. now pump with a meth set up. my readings are dead on to the dyno wideband down to 11.2-1 under that my wideband prety much bottoms out. i think i wil try a new sensor but at the 11.5-12.0 range where i like to be it still works. when i see 11.2 i just know i am rich, not sure how rich.

above what i say 100gallons of 30% xylene/pump gas mix i mean 100 gallons of actual xylene. same for the race gas. thats 300 gallons of race gas mixed with pump gas. i am suprized the sensor has help up this long.

Thanks.....I think I'm going to make a couple short ~12" extensions like you suggested.
