Unhappy water spots

i have serious water spots on my windshield and rear window i tried windex and vinegar with newspaper. nothing seems to work, what else is there to use?

I used glass polish. The key to the stuff working (for me anyway) is to rub a decent amount onto the glass. Let it dry and add some more. Rub it in a lot this time. Let it dry. Finally buff, a bit of elbow grease and time, the remaining polish off. It shouldn't take anymore than doing this procedure twice to remove any spots. I helped a friend of mine get some of the worst spots that I had seen out and it looks like new now.

3M rubbing compound will work.

hit the windows when i claybar'ed my car and it took it right off.
