Unhappy head lite trouble

Hey all,

I just got back to Japan after being on leave for a couple of weeks. While I was on leave I pulled the 'ol Bird out of storage and found that my AutoOptik head light housing units, chome insides, had started to peel away and the backs of them too. One was craked all away around the front rim and the only thing holding it together was the head light bezel.

I need help locating a new NON SEALED headlight distributor, it seems AutoOptiks has gone out of business.

i don't want pop up lights but if no company is going to come forth and make a decent Light Conversion then I guess I should look into a HID or Xnon (sp?) conversion cause the wife and I have just a little uneder two years left here and I know we want to go back to Europe so I need good lights over there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks jamie

In this thread there is a discussion about dissassembling a sealed-beam to use as a housing for standard bulbs. There is a link in there with instructions on another forum.

Here is a thread where someone install HID projectors in the pop-up housings
