Default Key fob problems?

When trying to pop the rear hatch with the key fob I have to hit the button about twenty times before it pops. Is the key fob jacked up or is something else going on?

I have to press it once to release, then lift up some, then press it again and finish pulling up.

This seems to be a common problem. Mine works so far, but I can't use it at long distances at all. My friend has to press the hatch button twice, pull up (like ewilborn above) and then press it again.

I did the double spring fix. That's not a problem anymore. If you haven't done this, you need to. I have a new battery in the remote, I just have to hit the button about 15-20 times before the hatch pops. Any ideas?

Yep the double spring mod takes care of that problem.
