Gears & Axles - DRs vs bias-ply stickies...which is harder on rearend?

I've heard a couple people from both sides of the argument. Some people say the DRs don't hook as well and don't tax the rear as much, while others say the 'give' of the bias wrinklewalls save the axles/gears from shock.

Which is true? Anybody with experience with both types?

dont really matter cuz even a stock tire can break the rearend if you dump the clutch alot on a drag strip

i would just get some m/t et street radials and do little to no burnout to start with and air them up to 20 or 25 psi so they dont dead hook and go from there
