Default Header install problem

I am installing pacesetter long tubes on my 1997 trans am Ws6. The problem I am having is the steering linkage is not reconnecting. To disconnect it I simply pulled the one bolt out and pulled it apart but, it will not go back together. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

I had to tap it in with a screwdriver from the top. that little bugger has to be lined up perfectly.

just take the bolt out of the bottom also and then put the top on first and then slide it up as high as it can go and then slide it down over the bottom
