Default Ac ?

My car has cold air conditioning and runs fine on short trips. If I have it on for around an hour on high it stops running on high and starts barley blowing any air. When you turn it off for about ten minutes it willl run fine again for another short time. Any Ideas?

evaporator freezing is a possibility. or a blocked drain plug(do you get wet passenger carpet?)

Can you still hear the blower motor running on high? If so, but the air has slowed down, you have a pinhole in the vacuum actuator that moves the flaps to direct the air within the climate control system. They shouldn't be very expensive , but I've never personally bought one for my car so I can't say for sure. However, it is a relatively easy fix. The hardest part is finding the thing under the dash.

What would cause the evaporator to freeze?
