Neon interiors hooked up

Neon interiors hooked up
Got bored this weekend and went to autozone. Not bad for $40. I hid all wires and even the switch. You cant tell they are there unless it is dark and I turn them on. I don't think they are rice since they match the instrument lights perfectly. Sorry for the blurry pics, still trying to master my new camera in night mode. Let me know what you think.

pretty cool, I like it. Like you said it matches the rest of the inteior, all your doing is adding on to the factory lighting and throwing a little color down low. IMO it balances out the top and bottom. When done in the same color like you have done it looks good.

Couple questions. I attempted doing the mod on lswon.com with the cold cathode kit. Somethin with wrong with the transformer and I gave up. Do you have this tapped into the car? Or plugged into a cigarette lighter? PM if you get a chance.

Jesus Christ...now accent lighting is rice?
Anything that isn't stock on these ls1 boards is considered rice. It's getting old. Extremely old.
anyway...
looks nice. I've thought about adding some blue ones to go wtih all my lights. It's like a cave in there at night.

Thanks guys. I really didn't know how to do what I did. I just experimented and applied the little I knew about electronics. I first cut off the cigarette lighter adapter on both lights. Then I spliced the lights together to one set of pos and neg wires to make a Y configuration. I then wired in a switch that is inline with the + wire. To hide the wires, I pulled the little panel with the traction control button out. I then exposed some wire on the 12v + and - wire that goes to the traction control. I Just connected the wires (+ to + and - to -) and then stuffed all the wires into the space behind the traction control panel and replaced it. The lights are just stuck up there with the double sided tape they came with. You can see the swith in the pics only when it is turned on. It is the green light under the dash. Any other questions please PM me.

Not something I would do (simply because I hate having alot of light in my car at night), but it looks good. If you show your car that should definitely get some attention.
Definitely........... not rice! I'm sure it'll get called a few more times just because ricers put non-matching underbody neon kits on their car. I guess that means since they put ugly wheels on their car too we shouldn't put any aftermarket wheels on our cars because that would be rice.

Anyway, what do you guys think of putting the same red neon light coming out of the nostrils in the hood?

I think you can make these cars ricey looking, like the wing on top of the factory wing, neons that dont match anything, funky stickers, etc. To me rice is just a way of saying something is an ugly cosmetic mod to a car. You can have domestic and import rice IMO. But just like the wheel analogy, just because one wheel looks bad on one car (ie: bright green neon underbody kit on a yellow Civic) doesn't mean another wheel like a Torq Thrust II would look bad on a Trans Am (ie: red neon lighting to compliment the factory lighting). They are both wheels (or neon as the case were), but they are two totally different types of wheels or neon applied in two totally different ways. Yours is done as a compliment while others are done without good taste in mind. Thats the difference in everything car appearance related IMO. Compliment instead of contrast.

I did it with 2 universal type 2 bulb brake lights way up underneath where you cant see them, same effect but a little more subtle.
I like the way yours turned out, can you see the red light from outside the car? (the glow)

yeah i like it as well you should go all out and get the underbody kit and put some in the hood vents, ive seen other TA owners do it and it looked sick. check out my site i have red underbody kit (Streetglow Gold series) and interior accents on my camaro and nothin but complements and looks from other people on the road.
