Default Major hesitation issues in a 98Z

I am trying to help a friend figure out what is wrong with his car.. The car is a bone stock 98Z28 6spd with a K&N filter. The car has extreme hesitation when going anything over 1/4 throttle. If you take the car up the RPM's without lots of throttle it isn't that bad. I thought it would be the MAF all oiled up from the K&N but I deleted it with my HPTuners and it still runs like garbage. I replaced the front o2's and fuel filter as well. What else could I check?
I have HPTuners and logged some runs with and without the MAF. Fuel trims are relatively at 0 at part and WOT and there is the infamous 3 degrees knock at the higher rpm's. AFR is around 900mv's and spark is around 24-25 degrees. I was expecting to be given a clue when I did some logging but the numbers look good relatively.. This ar seems like it has lost at least 100hp easy..
What should I be logging to see if it is out of whack and what else should I check/change?

Thanks for the help..

I ran the car in SD but I did not tune it after that because the LTFT's and STFT's were around the 0 mark and the AFR was around 870. I disabled the MAF by setting the sensor fail frequency to 0.
Would you be able to hear a bent pushrod and would it seem like the car lost most of its power from that? There is no noticable sound coming from the engine bay.

Is there anyway I can log any PID's beforehand before I take them out to check?

No misfires.. I am not sure what the MAF is reading at WOT. I will have to check next time I see him.. It ran the same in SD mode without the MAF as well.. I am stumped

Maf reads 26.27lb/min@5320rpm at WOT and climbs from 1lb/min@775rpm to WOT reading on a smooth curve..

Any ideas on what else to check??
