General Maintenance & Repairs - need some help with door handle

Ok my driver's side door handle on the outside does not work. i took the panel off, as good as i could, and saw the the lever that is supposed to be attached to the back of the handle is NOT and when i tried to push it back it it just pops back out. Now i was thinking of putting some JB weld to hold it there, but its way to small to get a hand or finger back there. so i have come to the crossroad.......take it to the dealer and foot the bill or get on here and find out anything i can.......HELP!!!!---andrew

sounds like the plastic holder broke off or fell off.
That is used to hold the rod into the hole, at least that is how it works on a 3rd gen,

I would take the other side apart and compare the two and find out whats wrong. Sorry I cant get any more specfic than that, but I am not to familiar with car doors.
