Default True duals VS ....

I plan on getting Jet Hot LTs and been debating on weather I should get another y pipe and keep my SLP or go with true duals.

I know that true duals will be a lot louder and I will have clearance issues, so those things make me really think.

How much more power will true duals will give me over catless y with SLP?

thanks

True duals won't give you a whole lot of power over a ory and a good flowing cat-back. The difference will be in the sound tone. It is much better with duals.

Well, SLP is probably one of the best flowing catbacks because there is simply no restrictions.

What would the power difference be? 5-10whp? Less?

How much better will the sound be with true duals? I don't want to deal with the loudness of true duals and all the rattles inside the cabin.

if you want to run true duals make sure you dont buy a spohn torque arm. i was supposed to have texas speed's true dual system put on my car today and we couldn't get it to fit at all. i was really looking forward to hearing it with my cam. oh well

thanks for the warning

I see that you have SLP exhaust as well with LTs. How does it perform? What did you dyno at?

Why are you changing to duals?

no problem. as far as the loud mouth and LTs go, they perform great. i haven't had any problems with them at all. before the cam install i dynoed 344 rwhp/354 rwtq. after the cam it dynoed 398 rwhp/366 rwtq. i just had an ASP pulley put on today so those number should be up a little (thats what i was told anyway)
the only reason i was going to switch to the dual setup was for the sound. i was told that the car would sound bad *** with the cam, etc. i dont think im going to do it now because a custom fabricated setup would run about $1300.

Yeah, I just listed to some cammed cars on ls1sounds.com and with true duals it sounds so much better than it would with ORY and any other exhaust, but I don't think I want to go through all that bullcrap with install at the shop, clearance, cabin noise, etc.

exactly. for 1300 i would rather get a good set of heads, use that money towards a 12 bolt, etc. then when the major stuff is done eventually get true duals

My car went from Catback to True Duals back to a catback (and made incredible numbers with an SLP 2OTL- it's making 472rwhp thru the muffler now). TD's are over-rated. A good Y-merge collector works wonders

DUALS!!! More power (mostly under the curve) and MUCH MUCH MUCH better sound than an SLP loudmouth. (IMO)

$1300?

Are dumped duals not a choice. If you are worried about it being too loud just be carefull with your muffler selection.

Which Y pipe are you using? and I assume you have SLP LTs?

I had the SLP LTs (along with the SLP Y). The SLP Y was ditched for True Duals. TD's were ditched for a QTP ORY (with 4" Flowmaster Scavenger Merge Collector), and the SLP LT's were ditched for QTP High Velocity Merge Collector LT's.

SLP LT's aren't bad LT's for power, but they will only take you so far. KOOKs and QTP will take you further.

So, what do you recommend for me? I really like Jet Hot LTs, so I will most likely go with them, but I heard that Jet Hot Y isn't the best quality.

Don't think I can really afford QTPs either.

I had no problems with my Spohn torque arm and TSP true duals. BTW true duals do it once and do it right

I can't recommend anything else.

If you want to go cheap, go Pacesetters with the TSP True Duals.

QTP would be $725 + $325, while Jet Hot would be $500 + $225.

Would $300 be worth extra few ponnies? How much better would QTP setup be against JH?

Got a link for TSP duals? I can't seem to find them for sale anywhere?

Found TSP duals. Looks like a very good deal to me.

It would cost the same to go custom with duals, but here it's all ready for you and all you have to do is bolt it on. TSP should bolt right up to JH, Hooks, QTPs, Pacesetters?

Except I wouldn't call it cheap. In this case the word economical works better.

Pacesetter are around $350 and TSP will be around $450, so it's a pretty damn good for true dual setup.

I still want those damn Jet Hots and will probably get TSP to go with them. Gotta think. I really want to drive/hear a car with true duals and see if I can handle it.
