How are you guys roughing in a VE table on a new tune? Are you guys using another table similar to your current setup or are you starting from scratch?

I just start from scratch, log and make the changes like normal... Since no 2 cars are the same, I prefer not to copy someone elses VE table ... especially since it doesn't take long to get the table pretty well dialed in

I have an auto that is a PITA to get it to idle. No matter where we set the numbers it never wants to idle. Any ideas?

depending how ridiculous the setup is. if you're tuning something truly ridiculous, you know you can cut like 30% off the first 3 columns, and start adding a nice chunk >4krpm. from that, just scan, adjust, repeat. starting off with something closer to your target just saves time, that's all.

Talking

I am using a LC-1 WB and FlashScan's Autotune. It is really easy.

After Autotuning can you use the MAF again or do you have to run mafless with that tune?

You can go back on the MAF.
You will need a Wideband O2 to use their BEN Factor "AutoTune".
In fact, with EFILive's software, you can use a custom map in their scanner and copy /paste in a new MAF table - after you're satisfied with the new VE table.

They have really simplified the whole VE tuning process.

FWIW.

^^^ Agreed.

To rough it in, I would use a WB, force OL SD, scale the whole VE table up 15%, command a 14.63 AFR for cruise and decel, and 12.5 for WOT. Then just go from there.
