Default looking to start tuning my camaro, help

hey guys i have just added my full exhaust, LTs and ORY. first off i want to be able to eliminate the codes that are setting the SES lights off. i am assuming it is probobly the cats codes and the AIR codes.

secondly i would like to be able to look up what ever codes that i get whenever it may happen.

Lastly i am going to be spraying and adding a cam very soon. i want to be the one tuning my car. i want to learn how to tune it, i want to understand what is involved, and spend hours on it.

What program will most likely be best for me. i will be honest i have not tuned before, however i am completely understand how engines works and i am not the type of person to rush things i will take my time and ensure that i dont do harm to my engine(with your guys' help of course )

i have a laptop, however i do not believe that there is a serial port on it(what the hell is a serial port?)

i do have USB though.

Thanks
Louie

i was looking it EFI live and they appear to offer multiple version of their software. however the 500 dollar version seems to not allow for tuning, and the one that allows for tuning is closer to 700 bux.

Hptuners is 500 for the tuning program. would anyone mind explaining to me what i will get by spending the extra 200 bux with efi live?

Thanks
Louie

this page is a good start http://www.efilive.com/

In a nut shell, you get excellent customer service, the best scanner on the market, the best tuner on the market, black box logging, free stoftware updates for life, etc, etc etc...

at the end of the day, you have to decide for you, what the best tuning package for your needs will be.
