Question Aftermarket hood paintjob cost?

I want My Z28 to look badass and personally I think the SS hood is the most baddass one out there, but I need to know how much a paint job as good as the car's factory job will cost on the hood.

Depends on your paint color and who you ask, but a safe guess would be around 700.

its a RUFF guess, I would call a paint shop and get a guesstament. Im sure they will get it low enough for you to go for it, after all, more money for them!! FYI dont go with a paint shop you've never heard of, if they mess up...your up creek!

You're going to be paying roughly $1400 for the SS hood and paint. Is it worth that to you?

I went to get an estimate to get my SS Hood repainted. They wanted to charge me $800 bucks. If I took them the hood already sanded down and primed, they would paint it for $500( way too much!!). My friend works as a painter at another Body Shop and he said that he would do it, all I had to do was buy the paint. So i had him order the paint from GM. It is gonna come out to about $120 bucks, not too bad. And another 8 bucks for my friends 6-pack. A grand total of $128 dollars.

I am gonna give him the 6-pack after he's done..HAHA,, He has done some awsome work, he just finished a custom paint job on a Chevelle, incredible!! This is why I am gonna let him paint my car. You just have to look around for a while, labor cost is what make this so expensive. I think that it should be cheaper in your case, because when you order an aftermarket hood, It comes ready to be painted, right? Well, good luck bro. You car will definetly look bad-*** once the hood is on. Good-luck once again!!

Good idea on the after he's done. On a different note, when I was in highschool a friend of mine had his friends that worked at best buy hook up his system for him. All they wanted in retrn was a 24 case. Well he let them drink it will they were working, and needless to say the system didnt work when they were done lol.

Also when my dad bought a new house when I was in 8th grade it had a fake brick fascade (sp fake face) on the front. You could tell the previous owner did it himself with some friends while they were drinking. At the left side of the house all the bricks were straight and as they progressed to the other side it got more and more crooked. I mean it was BAD. good ol' drunks

Yeah, Usally when u do somthing while you are drinking, it won't come out right. For some people it is the cheapest way to do something. Get a bunch of friends together, give them a few beers so they can do the job.
