Default power steering q's (leakin like a ****)

what happens if i over fill the pump with fluid? just curios.

also how do i tell if i fried the rack?

i had a leak a while back and accidently ran the car a little while without any fluid in it. say about 1/4 or 1/2 mile. now i replaced what i thought was a bad fitting and had the car turned on while i was under it and the wheels moved back and forth. there was a small leak from the drivers side where ps fluid was just kinda seeping out, not very fast at all. im curious if this was due to me over filling it?

thanks!

Usually a bad rack will make alot of noise or be real loose.
