Default Another 4L60E problem...

This is a friends car. It's a 98 Z. He bought he tranny some where in Texas. Can't remember where? I know it's supposedly a built tranny. Don't know what stage and all. It has a 4k stall and tranny cooler. Here is the deal. It started slipping in 3-4 first and then eventually would never shift into 3rd. It would redline in 2nd and never shift. Now the car has no gear at all when it's warm. He can start it up and it would be fine until operating temps then it would slip until it has nothing what so ever, not even reverse. So what's the consensus people?

I think it burned the 3-4 clutches and the debris circulated through it into the valve body etc and has stuck some shift valves, or the pressure reg valve. Just a guess.

Have it scanned for troubles codes, take a pressure reading off it, drop the pan and look for garbage in there. Theres three more for you.
