my advice would be not to do that! If they do end up doing a decent job, it will proably only look good for a few years before it starts to peel off. I did that when i was 16 with my truck, but it did look good for a few years.
where are you from?

The guys you're calling "Clowns" are the professionals who get paid well for the quality jobs they do. Doesn't it make you wonder why Maaco can charge so little for a paint job? It all boils down to you get what you pay for.

Just keep in mind, you're not paying for someone to just run a spray gun along your car. Prep work is the most important part of a paint job. NO car is perfect, and getting it that way is an art that takes time and skill you can't get for $300. Using quality products is also a must, and they can easily cost nearly what Maaco charges for the whole job.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO dont do it!!!!!!!! you'll regrete it!!! The people that they use to paint the cars are not very skilled, they dont have pashion for that, they just see it as another paycheck, ask around your area and you'll see the cream of the crop rise from the rest, but PLEASE dont do MAACO!!!!!! SAVE YOUSELF!!!

Macco isnt THAT bad if cash is a huge issue and the car needs to be painted NOW! Otherwise save up and get the real deal! I had a buddy go through macco a few times... Not bad work but you can see where the paint fades a lil or has a lil over spray, or it has bumps in it... It will do but if wont be something u want to brag about!
Save up, get something sweet and be done with it!

People don't seem to understand how much time, effort and money goes into a complete paint job. They are not cheap.

If you go with Macco, expect to get your car painted....and your wheels..your windshield...your interior, bascially everything. They prob dont even tape off. Just paint everything and anything on your car. Leave the windows open? Brand new painted interior then. Dont use Macco, for the love of god don't.

What you guys don't understand is that just like every other FRANCHISE there are stores that suck, and stores that are good. There's one shop by me that does EXCELLENT work. I know one guy that took his '70 Nova there and had it painted 10 years ago, and his paint STILL looks better than my car's factory paint, and there's not an ounce of peeling or runs, no overspray and no problems at all.
Maaco does prep, by the way. They use electric sanders to sand the paint down, then they fill in any dents and such like that to make the body straight, and then they primer it. That alone is $275 or so.
I'm going with the Maaco near me, but seriously if you do some research on the individual store, you won't be disappointed if you find a good one. There's 10 around me, and thus far the few that I've checked out only one of them seemed shotty, the other two that I went and looked at their finished cars that they just got done painting, they looked excellent and well done.
