Default how smooth should a ported throttle body be?

I was just grinding away at mine and its pretty much done, the port is not rough to the touch, actually pretty smooth, but there are some light pits/scratches I could work out, but if its mainly an athestic thing, then i won't bother. I hand rubbed it with some 40 then 80then 150 grit paper, but like I said there are still some deeper scratches I could work out with the power sander, but is this necessary. I know some people have mirror finished ports, while others look a little rough.

Polish it until you are happy with it, but it won't change your hp gains. If you've seen cnc'd heads they have a rippled ridges throughout and don't SIGNIFICANTLY affect flow in a negative way. Your minor scratches won't hurt flow, so just polish it until you are happy with it from a cosmetic stand point.

I agree, as Redneck Z stated, it's cosmetic at this point. Just sand it down till *your* happy with it. Polish it, and install it. I *love* my home ported TB.
