Hello, I have to replace my solenoid seeing one of the sponsors bent the (+) post of it when installing my headers....along with f'n up numerous other things which led me to why I am needing to replace my solenoid...but I digress and will save it for another thread.
Anyway, how do you remove those little star shaped bolts in order to separate the solenoid from the starter?
thanks
Paul

they look like an complete opposite of a torx bit....in other words of the torx bit is the male, these bolts would be the female. I have torx bits, but the end of my torx bits are the EXACT same as the head of the bolts. It's like trying to screw together 2 ends of the hose when they are both male or female.

Amazingly there are things called E-torx. I'm guessing it stands for exterior torx or something of the sort. There are wrenches for them, but they are rather pricey.

Yes the wrenches are expensive but you can usually find a cheap set of external torx sockets at any autoparts store. I believe I got a small set of 7 sizes at Autozone for about $6-10 bucks.
