Question Anyone paint there brake calipers gunmetal if so what did you use?

Thinking about painting my brake calipers a gunmetal color and wanted to make sure I use the right paint. I have heard of people using PPG paint on there brakes without any problems, this true? If so I could use pretty much any factory color and have it mixed in a spray can or maybe brush it on.

Is primer needed?

Whats better spray it on or brush it on?

Teri, do you do all this paint and body stuff yourself? And, if so, do you have your own shop or do you do this stuff at home?

BTW, how's the "Yellin' SS" coming along?

My huband runs the family paint and body shop. His Dad has now passed away and his Mom lives 4.5 hrs away. Basically it's his business.
Yes, he paints and does all his own work.

yellin' - we are waiting for the roll cage to be powder coated. Can't do much more until we get that installed.

Wow, those look nice! One thing I noticed was the chrome/polished bracket piece, I'm just wondering if you know if he sent it to a chromer or just polished it up real pretty, I'd love to get that look onto my calipers.

With respect to what few picks I've seen of his work, Teri, your husband is obviously very good at what he does. I have some friends at the local Chevy dealer's body shop who always do my work. They are very, very good but, being an artist, I know the difference between someone whose trying to get the job done and someone who puts their heart into it.

He is almost a one man shop.................
He's the painter, the parts changer, part time body man, the receptionist, the bookkeeper, the office manager, the estimate guy, the supervisor and the boss!!!!!!
He has only 3 other employees at the shop.
