Default Doing a converter

I'm having a 3500 converter installed. What else do you recommend? I know to have it tuned. Shift Kit? Flexplate?

if it sees a lot of strip time a flexplate would be a nice investment

Any other suggestions? It won't see any track time though. How about a tranny temp guage?
