Default 12" stall converter vs. 10" stall converter

Heard that the 10" inch converter is to small for the 4L60. Should stick with a 12" stall converter I guess.

When dealing with lockup is there an advantage to having a 12" or not?

Just heard some scary stories that some aftermarket converter companies use old 10" front wheel drive converters and remanufacture them into stall converters and sometimes use the original parts in them. Any truth to this.

Thanks

well, from what i've read about most reputable converter makers is that they mahcine their's from forged or billet stocks. If you skimp on a converter and opt to get one from some cheap ebay seller, you may get one of those remachined ones. Spend the money for a good one. Its always worth it in the end.

12" convertor is going to be ultra inefficient at higher stalls and wont produce that hit from flash. in other words, they are junk for everything other than OEM application. you wont find one from yank, PI, TCI, etc. 9.5-10.5" convertors are the way to go.
