Default speakers by back passengers dont work!

hey guys i recently installed my alpine head unit in my camaro and i noticed that the 2 middle speakers (the ones by the back seats) dont work. they worked when i had the stock head unit in there, also it is a monsoon system i dont know if that helps. but if someone can help me out that would be great. thanks!

When you installed the aftermarket head unit did you do anything else? The sail panel speakers are powered by the Monsoon amp not the head unit. If you disconnected the Monsoon amp then there would be nothing going to those speakers.

You would need to get a small amp to power those two speakers. The stock deck had an amp connected to it which the new deck doesn't have access to. My suggestion is get a 4 channel amp, wire the doors and the sides into it and let the rear two get powered by the deck...JMO

Well, not exactly. If you wire an aftermarket head unit into the same connections as the stock Monsoon head unit (using a wiring kit) then it will have the same outputs as stock and everything will work. The Monsoon amp takes speaker-level input from the head unit so any HU will work as long as it's wired correctly and you don't disconnect the factory amp.

If you decide to put in a different amp then you should replace the 2-ohm factory speakers as well (because of the odd impedance and because they can't handle much power).

take the stock monsoon amp out, the one located on the pasenger side under the rear sub speaker. Conect the wires that go together and it works great. had to do it to mine.
