For the past year, I've been hitting up the track and paying attention at our new feature this month. Why you ask? Well , You may say, "is another damn honda" but let me tell you something, this is not your everyday Civic..... Or is it?

In a way it is not your everyday Civic because I'm sure you don't see many 700+ hp cars on the streets, better yet a Civic. On the day of the photo shoot at Atlanta Dragway as we are waiting for this monster to arive we were thinking this is going to be a slow process due to the fact, that this is Civic is most likely beeing trailored.

Guess what, as we look down the road, We see a gold Honda, wait a sec... sure enough MR.PETER HEU and His 1992 B18c1 powered Honda Civic CX. I was amazed.
Not only does Peter drag this Civic almost Friday night or at any drag event around town and out, but he drives this car everyday. 31 psi will hurt alot of feelings on the streets, but has also help Peter hurt feelings at the track running a 10.3 @ 145 mph.

So if you V8 boys see this little 4 banger on the streets , Just watch out. This car has serious power under the hood. We would like to thanks Peter for letting us take a closer look at this perfectly executed Gem. If you guys want a closer look at this ride take a trip down to:

That guy deserves credit, 700hp is alot for the street especially for a FWD car. But you can't drive around with c16 in the tank all the time. I wonder what he's pushing on a daily basis?? The most i've ever seen as a true daily driver civic on pump gas was an orange hatch up in palmdale that did something like 580hp on the dyno at the rim of the world rally this year. Snd it sounded like it was going to blow to pieces, I honestly took a few steps back when he got on it.

None the less, I think that Civic is badass, I'll stick with well the three Camaro's I have owned, and will own but I give that car some props, it would be intersting to see it in a street race.

direct me to a cam only ls1 that traps 145mph no nitrous. no forced induction. cam and supporting mods only.

Peters car is far from a dyno queen. And actually he went 9.90 more recently, but is currently undergoing all the safety bs he needs to legally place in events.
if youd see the car run you'd have a whole new appreciation for it, let alone just talking to peter or any other of the isp guys--they are all stand up modest guys who do their own stuff, do it well, and do it with humility.

i think he traps low 150's now, if not really close.

I was kind of surprised to see some of the responses in this thread too. How many of you have ran a 10.anything OR trapped 130+ mph? I don't give a shit what it is, that's fast.

As much as I like our cars... If the only car produced was a V8 Corvette/F-body, the world would certainly be a boring place.

Hey guys, here is the truth on this story. Peter is a buddy of mine, this civic does run consistant low 10's, and has ran high 9's. This car used to be street/strip car, when it was on the street he only ran like 13psi. In April of 05 Peter bought a 05 Tacoma for a shop truck, for his shop "Import Source" in Winder GA, he also now uses the truck to trailer the civic. In May of 05 Peter blew the motor at an event, he has since put a new motor in, and it is a beast. Peter is no joke, this man can build a hell of a motor. I assure you this is no dyno queen.

I just don't like FWD imports, nuff said. It is fast, though.

But you can put a turbine on a shopping cart and make one of those fast too. :lol:

i mean i hate honduhs too--prolly more than most domestic guys bc i used to be all about hondas, until mine was stolen and then ricers inherited the planet, now its just embarassing to be associated with the scene, this just feeds my frustration though, here is a guy--builds a hell of a car, its actually a very nice helpful guy--sticking it out even though the scene blows ass and he still gets ripped on (albeit not that bad i knwo im just overly sensitive to when general import hate spills to the wrong people)

he is doing more than his part to make the scene better--and in the process builds a bad ass hatchback. wait til he runs more than a 24.5 tire--i know he tried a 26" but had a few issues, more track time is only gonna prove this car a beast if anything, the 10.3 and 9.90 were more shakedown runs. No bc if how fast its going its forcing the car to be more all strip than street strip--which only means its gonna get faster as priorities become more one dimentional and focused.

im surprized at the responses also..this car is nuts....and for people saying ohh put that much $ into a v8 and c how fast u go.....but the point is he didnt want that he wanted to take his 1.8 4 cyl to its limits and c where it got him....u gotta respect that no matter what brand it is the guy took a regular economy car and made a monster

Is this the same gy who was undefeated for so long out on Moreland? If so he is a local legend. This car is definitely in need of some respect.

As an x-import guy that had a 120+mph 200sx I can appreciate both sides. I wouldn't go back to the import fwd's now because I love my rwd v8 so much more. I do know that 145mph traps in a street car is about enough to destroy 99.9% of anything you'll see at any local hangout.

i agree .... i know i havent been that fast.... i soon will but the car is fast regardless.... if it was an f-body doing thats people would be like nice car blah blah blah.......i give it credit

I dont undestand why you guys are surprised at the posts. This is a domestic V8 board and most of the people here wouldnt piss on a Honda that was on fire, including me. Funny story one time we were at the track and this ghettofied looking hoopty pulls up with big rims and bling all over it. Were all laughing about it and then runs an 11. We all looked at each other for a minute and said wow, he poured a bunch of mioney into a peice of shit. Now the moral of that story is was that wasnt our thing so we all thought it was a peice of shit. To him it may have been the coolest thing around. Same here 90% of the people here could give 2 shits if a Honda runs 14s or 8s, its still a Honda and not their thing. Now its fast but who cares, Ive seen lots of cars in the 10s I wouldbt be seen dead in. Theres alot more to a car and its personality than how fast it goes down the track.

I have seen the car up close at a few dyno days and its pretty impressive, I drive a t.a. and love domestic rear wheel drive cars, but fast is fast, and the fact that the car makes more power out of half the cylinders is pretty damn cool.I think as far as hondas go its a pretty good lookin car too.
Just my opinion though, I respect speed no matter what it is.
Oh and as far as some people saying the wouldnt piss on a honda if it was on fire- I know a few ls1 and lt1 guys that say the same about each other :D

You guys are all funny. I guess to each his own.. But i'm still with the fellas that say fast is fast no matter the form.

i love my v8. but you have to give him some credit that car is just badass .takes alot to get 4 cylinders down the track at 145 cant do it with just a blower. it has lots of time and money invloved . i dislike imports,and my wife drives an eclipse it would be boring if everyone owned a camaro or a transam :)

I give much respect to anything that can spank my 383 daily driver...... so lets not sound like those ricers always making excuses.... that car is fast, and for the mph's that car is up there with some of the top 20 f-bodies on our data base....
so if that car was in race trim, it'd be a mid to low 9 sec ricer................

That car is insane! It has ALOT left in it still if it would hook. It doesn't even see full boost until the top of 3rd gear. He comes out on around 15 psi and it still spins really hard, especially at our local track, Atlanta Dragway. I know he is changing some things up right now, I predict 850+ whp no nitrous, some low 9 et's, and high 150's in the near future!

145 is fast but his et is telling me that his car doesn't settle down until mid track/bottom of third gear.

i got rid of my fwd cause its such a pain in the ass to hook up and majority of races are done from a stop not from a roll.

I don't think he would race for money, plus he's got nothing for you until back track anyway, just not enough traction. Now a highway race would be fun to watch, I'd put some money up for him on that one!
