It might work but I wouldn't trust it.
Buy a nice dual spring and let that be one issue you dont have to worry about.

The key to making the 918s work is shimming them to within .050" of coil bind. They should work very well if you do that.

What purpose do the 921's serve if you can run 918's to 7k on just about any cam out there for a stock cube LS1?

I knew the 918's were good, strong and popular, but damn!

I've ran 918's on .612 lifts XE-R no problem. Unshimmed.

Perhaps correct geometry and lifter preload plays a huge role in when these need shimming.

The 918 will just absolutely not create enough pressure. Brian you scare me.

They will if you shim them to within .050" of coil bind. Proven too many times.

That is true, true, true

Thats because Comp Cams released some faulty 918's that broke. Leaving some people with junk engines after the valve dropped.

Dont get me wrong, I like the 918 springs but if they break youre pretty much fuckd.

I like two instead of one in case one breaks..that is keeping it pretty simple..I see engines all the time that have broken valve springs and the damage that has been done .. ..you are in deep ca ca then..

I must say for a sponcer like Comp Cams to openly praise the 918's like this is pretty badass, especially when Comp offers a badass double set-up like the 921's,I'am impressed.
I must also add that i have over 15k on my 918's with a baby cam with no problems.

Did you think he was going to talk bad about them..he works for Comp Cams man..if you ever take a look at a engine after a valve spring breaks you'll also be impressed
