was the head a diamond shape or oval?

is the belly white? honestly it looks more like a boa than a water moccasin- their usually more striped, and not broken up like that, but it could be...

You know you're a car whore when the first thing that comes to your mind after reading the title is "I wonder what year Mustang will be in the photo?"

From what is in the pic it is waaaaayy too hard to tell for sure. But given the pattern and your location i would guess texas rat snake. There's no way in hell it's a moccasin. My other guess was broad banded water snake.

Psyko is the winner. I looked up rat snakes on Google and found a matching pic.

Reason it looks like it's under a microscope - it's a baby and the pic was taken on top of my ice chest.

My wife found it earlier in the day and put a bucket over it. When I came home and picked the bucket up, i about shit (just wasn't expecting to see a snake). So, in the words of Mr. Claypool (sp), I "kissed his cranium with an aluminum baseball bat"

lol. Luckilly I dont have to worry about that. The dog usually gets the snake before I get home to deal w/ 'em lol. He's gotten 2 garter snakes, and a king snake. I about shit a brick when I found that skin!
